Have you ever gotten a new supervisor at work? Management changes happen, and you need to know how to react and what to do to make the best impression on your new boss.

Here are some ways you can get off on the right foot with a new boss:

Be open and flexible to requests.
Ask questions about the manager’s goals. For example, what does he or she hope to accomplish in the next three months?
Does your new boss want written status reports from employees submitted on a regular basis?
How does he or she prefer to communicate: e-mail, phone or meeting?
Ask questions and be an active listener.
Give your new boss time to adjust to this new working environment.
Find out if your boss has an open-door policy, or if scheduled meetings are preferred.
New bosses, like everyone else, appreciate those who are interested in helping them succeed. Make the time to build a good working relationship with your new boss.

How have you dealt with work management changes?
